Electronics' founder could see many areas where customers needs
were not being met. As a result, in 1984, the company of RC Marine
Electronics Ltd. was formed to combine service, expertise with
an exclusive line of high-end electronic navigation, communication and
positioning products. Customers, including commercial transport,
military, scientific and government vessel operators chose RC Marine
to supply, install and integrate their sophisticated electronic systems.
Products included autopilot and steering control, radio telemetry, GPS
positioning and underwater acoustic systems.RC Marines' unique
approach to specialize in custom made products and associated on board
engineering, allowed systems to be tailored to meet specific and non standard
requirements. This value added approach to servicing customer needs gained
the company international exposure and created a worldwide demand for its
products.
In 1990, the principals of RC Marine Electronics saw another opportunity within the marine industry for design and integration of reliable autopilot and steering control systems. RC Marine Integrated Systems Ltd. was incorporated to develop and manufacture new micro-processor based systems to meet the increasing demands for easy interfacing and reliable autopilot and steering control systems, especially with the rising demand for integrated bridge environments. RC Marine Integrated Systems' geographic location in the technology rich area of Nova Scotia, Canada, enabled the company to benefit from the dynamic influence of related suppliers and an excellent supply of highly trained graduates from the many local post-secondary technological institutes. Key attributes of RC Marine include its experience and flexibility. By combining seasoned system specialists and their extensive experience in traditional electronic, electrical mechanical and hydraulic steering systems with computer savvy technologists, the company achieves an ideal blending of expertise to ensure the highest level of quality in product development and manufacture. This team approach leads to the development of systems designed to work in their intended environment, not just systems modified to adapt to an environment. The unique CRT technology, introduced by RC Marine Integrated Systems, replaces the numerous dials and mechanical components of older technology systems.
